This isn’t a comforting idea dressed up as art. It is the most honest thing I know about being alive.

Much of my life has been defined by loss. Yet when I look back, I can see that every loss asked something of me. It asked me to become someone I wasn’t before. Stronger. More compassionate. More grateful. More fully alive.

The peace lily growing from the fractured heart isn’t simply a symbol.

It is something I lived.

GROW is for anyone who has been broken open and discovered, often to their own surprise, that the opening let something new enter. That what first appeared to be an ending slowly became the beginning of a different life.
